Dreams Have Nightmares

Sunday’s Monday

Today I ask God to strengthen your hope in Him and revel to you the truth in dreaming of the plans which He has for you. I beg Him to increase your spiritual wisdom along with your faith to follow Jesus. I pray you receive spiritual visions in your sleep and find Godly instruction as you pray. May His joy in abundance accompany you as you journey on with Him!

God has reopened my eyes this week through the instruction of others. Which goes hand in hand with my subject last week on needing each other. Sunday, I was reminded of something my pastor Joe Dillard taught me years ago about intent of purpose. He elaborated on the fact that everything in this life has a price tag on it and we must be willing to pay the price to achieve the goal. 1 Peter 1:6-7 (ESV), 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. These thoughts came about from attending a Martin Luther King Jr. remembrance last Sunday evening where N. C. Representative Chaz Beasley spoke on dreams and nightmares. Using the example of Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous quote, “I Have A Dream,” in conjunction with the physical abuse, mental suffering and self-contention that he endured. Please; write this on the front of your mind, every dream comes with a nightmare! It is a natural progression of this life, a penalty (if you will) for our desiring more, bigger and better for ourselves and / or others. It’s important to realize that this is not speaking of those everyday self-inflicted, sufferings of a Godless life style and making those bad choices generated by pride, self-centeredness, denial and the heresy of truth. 2 Timothy 3:12-13 (ESV), 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. We live in a tit for tat world, where we get what we pay for. Please don’t assume that I’m speaking of deserve, when I say we get what we pay for. We all live under God’s grace to some extent and receive His mercy daily (even though most fail to notice.) But the point is, God never said that our walk with Him would be easy as we see in Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV), 13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Our nightmares are the test we face within ourselves, our doubts, our trust, our knowledge of who we are, our belief in who God says He is and our questioning our convictions. All of us love living the dream, no problems, no worries, easy street lifestyle, little need or time for God, however when the trials (nightmares) come, most of us fall apart with fear and worry. Most of us will cry out to God because we don’t understand the principal of tit for tat, dreams verses nightmares or everything has a paying place. Not sure who or when this was wrote but it nailed my point; everybody wants happiness, nobody wants pain, but you can't have a rainbow without a little rain. The valleys are out there, just waiting to accommodate each of us, testing our very existence while exposing what we believe in our heart. Timothy alludes to this as he tells us to be strong in 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (NIV), 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Something else that touched my heart this week was the song Katia Carson introduced me to by Hezekiah Walker, titled “I need you to Survive.” This truth has never become clearer to me as it did when I heard this song. My mind became filled with the flashing faces of people that have poured into my life and my heart felt like it was going to burst with thanksgiving to God, as I realize I would not be where I am “in God” today, without them. They were (and are) angels from God to accompany us through the nightmares of life. Listen please! We all must have somebody in our lives (that’s a God given) but the key is, “it must be “the right somebody” to help us to the victories of dreaming. Ask God to show you, His right somebody for you today!

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
