Stacked Deck!

Sunday’s Monday

Any one of you who watches old westerns on TV or has read about gambling knows about the principle of playing cards and gambling. Many of these shows and stories speak of a stacked deck. Google AI Overview defines a stacked deck as Arranging a deck of cards to cheat, such as to win every hand. To gain an advantage, to manipulate events or information, especially in an unethical way. We are all born under a stacked deck because Satan’s only purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy the life God intends for us. He intends and works very hard to keep us as miserable and joyless because the destitute are easier to control. Satan is the greatest manipulator of all time and uses it to rule this world. He has but one mission: send every human to hell so he can rule over them for all eternity. The Bible reads in 1 John 3:8 (NLT), But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

The holy writings are filled with warnings of how we should avoid Satan and his ways and what will happen if we give in to Satan’s will.  Remember, Satan wants to keep us miserable, confused, and overburdened to keep our eyes and thoughts off of Jesus. For example, in John 10:10 (NLT), we are warned that the thief’s purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. Jesus came to give us a choice of who we will serve. The problem that most people have and Satan is capitalizing on is doubt and fear.  This is a huge part of the stacked deck that Satan uses to play to our flesh, which belongs to him. As is written in 1 John 2:16 (NLT), For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this world.

We are lost sheep at birth and depend on our elders for everything, and sometimes, this is no good because a large part of our learning comes in our early years. Many do not grow up in a godly household and have trouble associating the difference between Satan and Jesus. We all too often become empty Christians. In my words, an empty Christian is a person who knows the bible and all about Jesus and yet has never met Him. They have never had a real encounter with Him to start a viable love relationship. Many grow up doubting the power of God, the love of Jesus, or the goodness of the believers in Jesus. We are warned in 1 John 2:4 (NLT), If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth.  A warning from 1 John 2:18 (NLT), Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come.

Greetings Faithful Father. I come to you with a thankful heart. I have so much to be thankful for, but there is not enough paper. However, I am most thankful for 1 Peter 2:24 (NLT), He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed. Help us, Lord, to be ready at any moment for your return or our departure. Grant us the desire to seek you more for strength, wisdom, and encouragement. Thank you Dad, for the body of Christ where I can find security, accountability, and support to carry me on. Thank you for Ephesians 2:5 (NLT), that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) Thank you for being you! Amen
